Proverbs 24:10
“If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small.” We will face adversity; but it is possible to endure it without fainting. If we try to do anything of our own accord, we will surely faint. Relying on ourselves will surely end in failure, unless we do one thing… Psalm 73:26 “My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever.” Thankfully, we have the opportunity to yield our weakness to His strength. 2 Corinthians 12:9-10 “And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.” Our strength may be small; however when we choose His strength, we are left with an encouraging promise. Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” Because of this Truth, we can press on in our service for the Lord knowing that we can finish strong if we continue to rely upon Him. Galatians 6:9 “And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.” Philippians 3:13-14 “Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.” Regardless of what adversity you may be facing today, choose to wisely trade your strength for His.
