April 28 - Weigh The Value.

Psalm 119:118
“Thou hast trodden down all them that err from thy statutes: for their deceit is falsehood.”
 
In the context of this verse, the phrase “trodden down” refers to weighing the value of something. Light things are of small importance or value, heavy things of much.
 
Proverbs 11:1
“A false balance is abomination to the Lord: but a just weight is his delight.”
 
The value of our relationship and our rewards will be weighed one day. God, as the Righteous Judge, weighs our hearts on His judicial scales in two specific areas of our lives.
 
Rejected Relationship
Matthew 7:21-23
“Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity.”
 
Rejected Reward
1 Corinthians 3:12-15
“Now if any man build upon this foundation gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, stubble; Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every man's work of what sort it is. If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.”
 
May we all weigh the value of both our relationship and our rewards based upon the Truth of the Word of God, for one day it will be too late to do so.
 
“for their deceit is falsehood”
The profession of those who live contrary to the Word of God is a lie. We cannot profess Christ with our lips and deny Him with our actions.
 
2 Timothy 3:5
“Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.”
 
If we want the Lord to order our steps, we must weigh the value of our lives based upon the Word of God.
