Proverbs 27:17
“Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend.” The Lord places people in our lives for a reason. Some are only there for a short time, some stay forever. Some have been there for a long time, some come right when you need them. If God has crossed your path with a friend that walks alongside of you in your walk with the Lord, thank the Lord for them today. Thank the Lord today for a friend that laughs with you. Proverbs 17:22 “A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones.” Thank the Lord today for a friend that rebukes you. Proverbs 27:5-6 “Open rebuke is better than secret love. Faithful are the wounds of a friend; but the kisses of an enemy are deceitful.” Thank the Lord today for a friend that encourages you. Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 “Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow…” Thank the Lord today for a friend that counsels you. Proverbs 27:9 “Ointment and perfume rejoice the heart: so doth the sweetness of a man’s friend by hearty counsel.” Thank the Lord today for a friend that serves the Lord with you. Philippians 1:27 “…that ye stand fast in one spirit, with one mind striving together for the faith of the gospel” Thank the Lord today for a friend that prays for you. Galatians 6:2 “Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.” Thank the Lord today for the godly friends He has placed in your life, and for the Friend that sticks closer than a brother.
