Proverbs 9:13
“A foolish woman is clamorous: she is simple, and knoweth nothing.” We see here a glimpse of the opposite of wisdom. The foolish are rarely quiet, and often try to disguise their lack of knowledge with noise. Romans 1:22 “Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,” The foolish possess no fear of the Lord, but rather refuse the Truth of Wisdom and any instruction contrary to that which they believe to be true. Psalm 14:1 “The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.” Proverbs 1:7 “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.” When Wisdom is rejected, the foolish often are found enticing others to be like them. They desire to understand, but are unable to do so when looking in all the wrong places. Proverbs 9:14-18 “For she sitteth at the door of her house, on a seat in the high places of the city, To call passengers who go right on their ways: Whoso is simple, let him turn in hither: and as for him that wanteth understanding, she saith to him, Stolen waters are sweet, and bread eaten in secret is pleasant. But he knoweth not that the dead are there; and that her guests are in the depths of hell.” Religion is empty without the Person of Wisdom, the Lord Jesus Christ. The God of this world has blinded the eyes of many foolish people who only have religion and no relationship with Him. Modern day religion may be sweet and pleasant for a season, but will send the religious deceived into the depths of hell. We must proclaim the Truth of the Gospel to anyone and everyone. Share the Wisdom of the Word to those around you today. Bible Reading: Song of Solomon 7-8 | Revelation 14 | Proverbs 10

Proverbs 9:11-12
“For by me thy days shall be multiplied, and the years of thy life shall be increased. If thou be wise, thou shalt be wise for thyself: but if thou scornest, thou alone shalt bear it.” The way we live determines how long we will live. When we live in the Way of Wisdom we are promised more life, and abundant life. John 10:9-10 “I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture. The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.” True Life is found in Jesus Christ. In Wisdom is Life, for Jesus is the Only Way to eternal life. Without Him, we have no life and are a miserable people. He is the Bread of Life. John 6:35,48,51 “And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst...I am that bread of life…I am the living bread which came down from heaven: if any man eat of this bread, he shall live for ever: and the bread that I will give is my flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.” He is the Water of Life. John 4:14 “But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.” The amount of godly wisdom we possess is directly proportional to how we yield ourselves to Him through His Word. The less of the Scriptures we follow, the less wise we will be. The more of the Word of God we obey, the more wisdom we will have. Increase the number of your days by living according to the Wisdom of the Word. Bible Reading: Song of Solomon 5-6 | Revelation 13 | Proverbs 9 Proverbs 9:7-9
“He that reproveth a scorner getteth to himself shame: and he that rebuketh a wicked man getteth himself a blot. Reprove not a scorner, lest he hate thee: rebuke a wise man, and he will love thee. Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be yet wiser: teach a just man,and he will increase in learning.” The amount of wisdom we possess is usually displayed within our reactions. What a convicting thought! Sometimes the Lord sends someone to rebuke or instruct us in the way we should go. Remember Nathan? 2 Samuel 12:1,7 “And the LORD sent Nathan unto David…And Nathan said to David, Thou art the man…” Nathan held nothing back, and carried out what the Lord had led him to do. David needed to be reminded that God sees everything we do. Notice his reaction to Nathan’s rebuking. 2 Samuel 12:13 “And David said unto Nathan, I have sinned against the LORD.” Place yourself in David’s shoes. How do you react to reprove or rebuke? Although every rebuking may not be of the Lord’s doing, we must first consider if there is something for us to learn before we react incorrectly. Would people know that we fear the Lord by the way we react to them? Proverbs 9:10 “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.” Where there is no fear of Him, there is no wisdom. Only when we acknowledge the holiness of God with reverence and godly fear can we begin to understand Him. Consider having wise reactions today. “Wisdom hath builded her house, she hath hewn out her seven pillars: She hath killed her beasts; she hath mingled her wine; she hath also furnished her table. She hath sent forth her maidens: she crieth upon the highest places of the city, Whoso is simple, let him turn in hither: as for him that wanteth understanding, she saith to him, Come, eat of my bread, and drink of the wine which I have mingled.” An invitation is given to come, not just to be present, but to eat and drink freely. Wisdom not only accomplishes much, but It also offers much. Isaiah 55:1-3 “Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. Wherefore do ye spend money for that which is not bread? and your labour for that which satisfieth not? hearken diligently unto me, and eat ye that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness. Incline your ear, and come unto me: hear, and your soul shall live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David.” A picture of the free Gift of Salvation is found within both passages. The invitation to come, buy, eat, and drink is completely free. But how can we buy without money or price? Someone has to have already paid what is required, we need only receive what is offered. Proverbs 9:6 “Forsake the foolish, and live; and go in the way of understanding.” Salvation requires repentance. We must turn from our foolish ways and cling to the Way of Wisdom. Jesus Christ is the only Way to eternal life, for He is the Life. In Him, we live. Without Him, we perish. Why do people struggle with the free Gift of Salvation? Many want to have a part in paying the price required, yet that is not possible or what the God ever intended for mankind. In His Wisdom, He planned our salvation before the foundation of the world. His love for us made Him willing to give. God gave His Son. Jesus gave His life. They gave so that we could receive the Gift freely, without price. God offers this invitation to accept the free Gift of Salvation to not just a predestined few, but to anyone and everyone. Whosoever. John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” Romans 10:13 “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Share the Invitation of Wisdom today. Proverbs 11:30 should encourage you to do so. Bible Reading: Song of Solomon 1-2 | Revelation 11 | Proverbs 7 Proverbs 8:30-36
“Then I was by him, as one brought up with him: and I was daily his delight, rejoicing always before him; Rejoicing in the habitable part of his earth; and my delights were with the sons of men. Now therefore hearken unto me, O ye children: for blessed are they that keep my ways. Hear instruction, and be wise, and refuse it not. Blessed is the man that heareth me, watching daily at my gates, waiting at the posts of my doors. For whoso findeth me findeth life, and shall obtain favour of the LORD. But he that sinneth against me wrongeth his own soul: all they that hate me love death.” As Wisdom begins with a fear of the Lord and then grows when we walk in His ways, blessings are sure to follow. God promises us in His Word that He will bless those that follow Him. Psalm 128:1 “Blessed is every one that feareth the LORD; that walketh in his ways.” Walking in the Ways of the Lord includes hearing the Word of the Lord. Are you watching daily and waiting patiently while seeking Him in the pages of the Scriptures? You are sure to find Him. When we find Wisdom, we find Life. John 14:6 “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” John 5:24 “Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life.” We cannot fear the Lord until we first hear His Word, and believe on Him that sent us Wisdom and Life. “The LORD possessed me in the beginning of his way, before his works of old. I was set up from everlasting, from the beginning, or ever the earth was. When there were no depths, I was brought forth; when there were no fountains abounding with water. Before the mountains were settled, before the hills was I brought forth: While as yet he had not made the earth, nor the fields, nor the highest part of the dust of the world. When he prepared the heavens, I was there: when he set a compass upon the face of the depth: When he established the clouds above: when he strengthened the fountains of the deep: When he gave to the sea his decree, that the waters should not pass his commandment: when he appointed the foundations of the earth:” Before the foundation of the world, Christ was ordained to be our Saviour and Redeemer. As God spoke the world into existence, Jesus was there. Though He had not dwelt with man in human flesh yet, He created all things. John 1:1-3 “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.” Colossians 1:16-17 “For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him: And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.” The Wisdom of God was spoken through His Word to create His creation. As He made the trees, He must have known which Tree would grow to become the Cross that would hold the body of His only begotten Son. The Tree that would bear the weight of the sins of the whole world as Christ took them upon Himself. God knew all of this, yet He still made the trees. God understood what His Son would have to endure in order to redeem us, yet because of His love for us, He gave. John 3:16 “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” What are we willing to give for Him? Bible Reading: Ecclesiastes 9-10 | Revelation 9 | Proverbs 5 The Apostle Paul understood that the Wisdom he possessed was a gift from God. Every gift has a purpose, and Paul’s was to preach the Gospel to the Gentiles. We have the Gospel today because God used Paul to bring it to us, and he was faithful to his purpose.
Ephesians 3:6-9 “That the Gentiles should be fellowheirs, and of the same body, and partakers of his promise in Christ by the gospel: Whereof I was made a minister, according to the gift of the grace of God given unto me by the effectual working of his power. Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ; And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ:” He preached the unsearchable riches that are found in Christ through the power of the Gospel. Proverbs 8:18-19 “Riches and honour are with me; yea, durable riches and righteousness. My fruit is better than gold, yea, than fine gold; and my revenue than choice silver.” In Christ are riches and treasures to which nothing in this world can be compared. These are available to those who choose Him, and these durable riches never fade away because of His righteousness that is imputed to us. Proverbs 8:20-21 “I lead in the way of righteousness, in the midst of the paths of judgment: That I may cause those that love me to inherit substance; and I will fill their treasures.” What treasures come to mind that the Lord has given you? These are not material goods or things, but rather treasures unseen that He has bestowed upon His children to allow us to live for Him. Thank Him today for all the riches that are found through the gift of His grace and Wisdom. Bible Reading: Ecclesiastes 7-8 | Revelation 8 | Proverbs 4 Proverbs 8:15-16
“By me kings reign, and princes decree justice. By me princes rule, and nobles, even all the judges of the earth.” As the King of kings and the Lord of lords, Christ reigns. His grace and wisdom has put each leader in their position. No authority is given without His consent. Daniel 2:20-22 “Daniel answered and said, Blessed be the name of God for ever and ever: for wisdom and might are his: And he changeth the times and the seasons: he removeth kings, and setteth up kings: he giveth wisdom unto the wise, and knowledge to them that know understanding: He revealeth the deep and secret things: he knoweth what is in the darkness, and the light dwelleth with him.” Although we may never rule a country or sit on a throne with a crown on our heads, we too are partakers of this same grace and wisdom through Him. Anything we are given to do is because of His grace. Anything we accomplish because of the wisdom that only comes from Him. Proverbs 8:17 “I love them that love me; and those that seek me early shall find me. Though it may seem like He is miles away, He is there. He is as close as the mention of His Name, Jesus. He is there within the pages of your Bible, as the Holy Spirit reveals Him to you in ways you have never seen before. Matthew 7:7-8 “Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.” If we desire the Wisdom that only comes from Him, we must delight in Him to know Him more. “Counsel is mine, and sound wisdom: I am understanding; I have strength.” This is not just any other person; but a Divine Person, none other than Jesus Christ Himself. Throughout the Scriptures we learn of the attributes that dwelt within Him as He dwelt with His creation. The prophets spoke of Him, the disciples spoke to Him, and we have the opportunity for Him to speak to us through His Word. Counsel Isaiah 9:6 “For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.” He is Wonderful, and He is our Counsellor though His Word. As the mighty God, He is able to guide us through any problem. He will never leave us, for He is the everlasting Father. He can comfort the storms of our lives, because He is the Prince of Peace. Sound Wisdom Colossians 2:3 “In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.” A treasure is not a treasure if it is easily found or very common. We must seek and search for the treasures found within the pages of the Word of God. The worth of His treasures of Truth cannot be numbered. Understanding Proverbs 2:6 “For the LORD giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding.” We cannot lean upon our own understanding, for it will not get us very far since no good thing dwelleth within us. God gave us His Son and His Word so that we may trust in Him with all of our hearts. When we acknowledge Him, He will direct our paths through His Word so that He may give us the understanding we need. Strength Philippians 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me.” Sometimes the Lord has to remind us that our strength will fade and fail, often when we need it the most. God teaches us that we must yield our strength to His everlasting strength. His grace is sufficient for any situation, and His strength is made perfect in weakness. Seek to find the Person of Wisdom on each page you turn in your Bible today. Bible Reading: Ecclesiastes 3-4 | Revelation 6 | Proverbs 2 We begin to have wisdom and knowledge when we begin to fear the Lord.
Proverbs 1:7 “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.” Psalm 111:10 “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: a good understanding have all they that do his commandments: his praise endureth for ever.” Part of the process of truly fearing the Lord is to hate what the Lord hates. We cannot be friends with the world while also considering ourselves to be friends with Him. God demands that His children disregard what displeases Him. Proverbs 8:13 “The fear of the LORD is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate.” Evil abounds in the world around us, and therefore we must avoid everything that is contrary to the Truth. We must hate evil, pride, arrogance, every evil way, and those who speak not the Truth. Within the pages of the Word of God we find an instruction manual for how God would have us to live amongst this evil. Psalm 119:104 “Through thy precepts I get understanding: therefore I hate every false way.” When it seems that there is no where to turn due to the increase of evil around us, it is easy to become disheartened and discouraged. Where can we go? What can we do? Resist the temptation to panic and isolate yourself, and begin to cling to the Word of God to speak peace to your soul. Psalm 119:128 “Therefore I esteem all thy precepts concerning all things to be right; and I hate every false way.” Strive today to hate what God hates, for then we begin to see His Wisdom at work within our lives.
