“I was almost in all evil in the midst of the congregation and assembly.”
In the midst of our congregations today, strange wisdom not only occurs, but sometimes it overpowers those that seek godly wisdom rather than their own. God will not tolerate the profaning of holy things.
“Speak unto Aaron and to his sons, that they separate themselves from the holy things of the children of Israel, and that they profane not my holy name in those things which they hallow unto me: I am the LORD.”
We must remember that God is Holy; therefore His house should be as well. As His children, we are to be holy temples of God.
1 Corinthians 6:19-20
“What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own? For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.”
The one word within our verse today that makes all the difference is “almost”. This tells us that he was not “in all evil” yet. There was still hope. He had realized that something needed to be changed.
Are you “almost” today? The best way to avoid anything is to abstain from even the appearance altogether. May we be aware when we are “almost” in a place where evil may take hold upon our testimony.
“He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.”
We must choose wisely what we allow to influence our walk with the Lord. Walk in the Wisdom of the Word today.
