We cannot exercise Biblical wisdom without spending time within the pages of the Word of God. More than just knowing what the Scripture says, we must apply the Word to our hearts.
Proverbs 6:20-22 “My son, keep thy father's commandment, and forsake not the law of thy mother: Bind them continually upon thine heart, and tie them about thy neck. When thou goest, it shall lead thee; when thou sleepest, it shall keep thee; and when thou awakest, it shall talk with thee.” Our Guide – “When thou goest, it shall lead thee…” The Word directs us. The Word teaches us. The Word leads us. Our Guardian – “…when thou sleepest, it shall keep thee…” The Word gives us rest. The Word comforts us. The Word protects us. Our Instructor – “…and when thou awakest, it shall talk with thee.” The Word desires to be read. The Word communes with us. Proverbs 6:23-24 “For the commandment is a lamp; and the law is light; and reproofs of instruction are the way of life: To keep thee from the evil woman, from the flattery of the tongue of a strange woman.” God’s Word is a Lamp to brighten our surroundings, and a Light to direct our path. The Scripture provides instruction for today and direction for tomorrow. Psalm 119:105 “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” Allow the Word to guide, guard and instruct you today. As the Word shines in our hearts, we can reflect His Light so that others may see Him. Bible Reading: Job 19-20 | 1 John 1 | Proverbs 20
