John 15:4-5
“Abide in me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, except it abide in the vine; no more can ye, except ye abide in me. I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.” A branch is nothing in and of itself. When it is broken off from the vine, it loses its strength and ability to produce any fruit. To be fruitful Christians, we must abide in Christ. We must depend upon Him, and we must commune with Him. The Vine never leaves the branches. If a branch becomes unfruitful it is because it has broken away from the Vine, its Supplier and Sustainer. It is absolutely necessary that the branch remain connected to the Vine. A branch cannot produce any fruit without the Vine, and it cannot survive without the Vine. II Corinthians 3:5 “Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God;” Without Him, we can do nothing. - John 15:5 But through His strength, we can do all things. – Philippians 4:13 Remind yourself today that as a branch, you must stay connected to the True Vine, the Lord Jesus Christ. Take time to abide in Him, for without Him we can do absolutely nothing. Bible Reading: Nehemiah 9-10 | Hebrews 12 | Psalm 5
