Solomon was the King of Israel robed in riches and royalty, yet the wisdom he possessed brought him far more honor than the crown he wore. It was not Solomon himself that cause him to be highly esteemed, but it was his wisdom that spread abroad throughout the land.
Proverbs 4:8-9 “Exalt her, and she shall promote thee: she shall bring thee to honour, when thou dost embrace her. She shall give to thine head an ornament of grace: a crown of glory shall she deliver to thee.” An incorruptible crown awaits us in our heavenly home. One that will not fade away, but will last for all eternity at the throne of Wisdom. Every crown we receive is not for our keeping, but to allow us to cast them at the feet of Jesus. Embracing Him is an act of faith. Acts 16:31 “And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house.” Ephesians 2:8-9 “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.” Exalting Him is an act of worship. Psalm 99:5 “Exalt ye the LORD our God, and worship at his footstool; for he is holy.” Isaiah 25:1 “O LORD, thou art my God; I will exalt thee, I will praise thy name; for thou hast done wonderful things; thy counsels of old are faithfulness and truth.” Our wisdom is best expressed when we exalt Jesus to His rightful place within our lives. When we choose Jesus, we choose to be wise. Bible Reading: Nehemiah 11-13 | Hebrews 12 | Proverbs 5
