Luke 2:7
“And she brought forth her firstborn son, and wrapped him in swaddling clothes, and laid him in a manger; because there was no room for them in the inn.” She. She gave birth to Jesus. She was whom the Lord chose to use to bring the Word into the world. John 1:14 “And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.” She wrapped Him in swaddling clothes. They were grave clothes, which signified His purpose. Luke 2:11 “For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.” She laid Him in a manger, because they found no room in the inn. Regardless of whether or not there is room made for Him, the Lord will carry out His purpose. Think of everything that innkeeper missed out on because he rejected Joseph and Mary that night. She was visited by the shepherds that were told of the birth of Jesus by the angel of the Lord. Luke 2:17 “And when they had seen it, they made known abroad the saying which was told them concerning this child.” While they made Him known, she pondered all that God had done through her. Luke 2:19 “But Mary kept all these things, and pondered them in her heart.” Mary the Mother of Jesus also serves as an example of the great things that are possible through us if we will simply yield ourselves to the Lord.
