“The queen of the south shall rise up in the judgment with the men of this generation, and condemn them: for she came from the utmost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and, behold, a greater than Solomon is here.”
She proved Solomon with hard questions regarding his wisdom.
2 Chronicles 9:1
“And when the queen of Sheba heard of the fame of Solomon, she came to prove Solomon with hard questions at Jerusalem, with a very great company, and camels that bare spices, and gold in abundance, and precious stones: and when she was come to Solomon, she communed with him of all that was in her heart.”
Jesus referred to her as He rebuked the Jews for the sign they were seeking.
“For as Jonas was a sign unto the Ninevites, so shall also the Son of man be to this generation.”
He was the Sign they were looking for, yet they received Him not.
“He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not. He came unto his own, and his own received him not.”
She was willing to come from the utmost parts of the earth to find Solomon, yet they rejected Him as He stood right in front of them.
The Queen of Sheba also serves as an example of how dedicated we should be to seeking the Truth through the Word of God.
May we not reject the Truth that God has given us.
