December 24 - The Water Of The Wise.

Proverbs 18:4
“The words of a man's mouth are as deep waters, and the wellspring of wisdom as a flowing brook.”
 
The words of the wise are peaceful, full of grace and truth.
 
Ecclesiastes 9:17
“The words of wise men are heard in quiet more than the cry of him that ruleth among fools.”
 
Peaceful in that they are often quiet; not drawing attention to them, but there with purpose. Their lack of noise speaks volumes.
 
They are full of grace and truth because this wellspring of wisdom flows from Wisdom Himself, our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. He was made flesh and dwelt among His people so that we could know Him, His grace and the Truth.

He is that Water of Life that flows freely to all who will believe in Him.
 
John 4:14
“But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.”
 
His Water in us enables us to have everlasting life.
His Word in us enables us to exchange our fleshly wisdom for His.
 
Colossians 3:16
“Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.”
