Ephesians 5:16
“Redeeming the time, because the days are evil.” The time you started reading the previous sentence can never return. Think of the photos we take with our phones… it literally freezes and records a moment in time that we can never get back. It is only a memory. You can hold on to the picture of that memory as long as you want, but you cannot go back and change it. Use your time while you have it, for there will be no more present time – all will be future time… all will be eternity. We are not promised tomorrow. Proverbs 27:1 “Boast not thyself of to morrow; for thou knowest not what a day may bring forth.” Once time passes, an opportunity is lost and gone forever. Ecclesiastes 9:10 “Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest.” What opportunities have you let pass you by? Telling a friend how much they mean to you? Inviting someone to church? Galatians 6:10 “As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.” Giving someone a tract? Witnessing when someone asks a question? Colossians 4:5 “Walk in wisdom toward them that are without, redeeming the time.” Redeem the time that the Lord has given you while you have it.
