Lamentations 3:26
“It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the LORD.” God wants us to have hope while we wait. He desires us to have faith that He is working behind the scenes. Hope develops Faith. Faith develops patience. Romans 8:24-25 “For we are saved by hope: but hope that is seen is not hope: for what a man seeth, why doth he yet hope for? But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it.” Patience is not a fun quality to develop. We’ve all heard the saying, “Don’t pray for patience.” But we have not, because we ask not. Many times in the growing of our patience, we only hope for the waiting to be over. Instead, God wants us to quietly wait for Him, and while we wait in silence we should exercise our faith that He will come through. Hope is simply faith marked with a waiting period. When the Lord makes us wait. He has a purpose. He may delay something for His glory & our good. Isaiah 30:18 “And therefore will the LORD wait, that he may be gracious unto you, and therefore will he be exalted, that he may have mercy upon you: for the LORD is a God of judgment: blessed are all they that wait for him.” Are you loudly waiting for the Lord? Exercising only your jaws will not get you very far. God gave us two ears so that we could listen twice as much as we speak. We can’t hear as well while we are talking. Let your words be few today. Are you quietly waiting for the Lord? Exercising your faith on your knees allows the Lord to lift you up in His timing. Humble yourself before Him today, and quietly wait with the faith that He does all things well. Bible Reading: I Chronicles 13-14 | Colossians 3 | Proverbs 1
