Luke 7:50
“And he said to the woman, Thy faith hath saved thee; go in peace.” The Pharisees had seen Jesus heal people of many different types of physical infirmities. Then one day, a woman in the city heard that Jesus was in Simon’s house. She had a reputation of being a sinner. When she knew that Jesus was eating at the Pharisee’s house, she knew this was her chance to meet Him. She brought with her an alabaster box of ointment. Luke 7:37 “And, behold, a woman in the city, which was a sinner, when she knew that Jesus sat at meat in the Pharisee's house, brought an alabaster box of ointment,” Instead of just giving Jesus the gift she brought, she stood behind Him weeping. Then began to wash His feet with her tears and wipe them dry with her hair. Before she put the ointment on, she kissed His feet in adoration of Who He was. This woman knew her condition, and she knew that Jesus was the Only Answer. Luke 7:48 “And he said unto her, Thy sins are forgiven.” There is no record of her saying a word until after Jesus forgave her. No words were needed. Her faith in Him was all that mattered. She wept over Who she knew He is, and her sorrow of her sin. Her tears and service toward Him showed her sincerity. Saving faith in Jesus resulted in her forgiveness and salvation. The same can happen to anyone who chooses to believe on Him today. Bible Reading: 1 Samuel 17-18 | Romans 14
