John 16:23-24
“...Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you. Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.” What a privilege it is that the God of the universe wants us to pray to Him. He desires to hear from us. How amazing is that? Jesus tells us that if we will simply pray in His Name, according to the Father’s will, we will receive. John 14:13-14 “And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it.” We are not told to pray in the Name of the Father or in the Name of the Holy Ghost, but in the Name of Jesus, God’s Son. Why is that? Because His Name is above all names! There is just something about the Name of Jesus! John 15:16 “Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you.” He chose us, and He chooses to have us ask Him for what we need. He knows what we need before we even ask, yet in His love He desires to hear from us. His ears are always open to our cry, our pleading, our asking, our seeking, our knocking, our supplications. He is always there. Whatever your need, call on Him today. He’s as close as the mention of His Name! Jesus, Jesus. Gordon Jensen Bible Reading: I Samuel 18-19 | Romans 16 | Psalm 102
