May 3 - Wait In Faith.
“Mine eyes fail for thy salvation, and for the word of thy righteousness.”
Waiting and hoping for the deliverance of the Lord can be a dreadful experience.
“I had fainted, unless I had believed to see the goodness of the LORD in the land of the living. Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.”
His timing is not our timing.
Many times, the Lord does not answer when we want Him to do so. Think of how Mary and Martha must have felt in the days after Lazarus died…but the Lord had a plan. While we wait, let us not be weary.
“And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.”
Even when we cannot see what lies ahead, we can wait in faith.
His thoughts are not our thoughts.
Though we may think that we know what is best for us, God’s plan is always best. The thoughts and ways of God are much higher than ours, so why would we want to argue with Him?
“For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the LORD. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts.”
Even when we don’t understand, we can wait in faith.
Our deliverance may not come when or how we think it should, but we must remember that God is Faithful. He is always working things for our good and His glory.
“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”
If we want the Lord to order our steps, we must wait in faith for the deliverance of the Lord.
