Hebrews 4:2
“For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them: but the word preached did not profit them, not being mixed with faith in them that heard it.” Many people, even in our churches today, know a great deal about Jesus Christ, yet they do not have a personal relationship with Him. They know of Him, but they do not know Him. To know Christ is to combine our knowledge of Him with faith in His finished work on Calvary. We must believe in Him and put our faith into action as we read, hear and learn more about Him. Romans 10:17 “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” The Word of God must be preached to be heard, and once heard must be mixed with faith to be profitable. Those around us cannot express faith in Christ if we do not first proclaim the Gospel to them. Isaiah 55:11 “So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.” God has promised that when the Word is sent out, It shall prosper and accomplish what the Lord pleases. We can rest assured that when we proclaim the Gospel, God will bless our effort. Bible Reading: Ecclesiastes 11-12 | Revelation 11 | Psalm 38
