Psalm 119:91
“They continue this day according to thine ordinances: for all are thy servants.” God’s creation reminds us of God’s promises, which we find within His Word. As He spoke the earth into existence, so we see it today. The land is the Earth, and the waters the Seas. Genesis 1:9-10 “And God said, Let the waters under the heaven be gathered together unto one place, and let the dry land appear: and it was so. And God called the dry land Earth; and the gathering together of the waters called he Seas: and God saw that it was good.” The earth has grass, the herbs have seeds, the trees have fruit, whose seed is within them. Genesis 1:11-12 “And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so. And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good.” The sun, the moon, and the stars were placed in the sky for a specific purpose. Genesis 1:14-18 “And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years: And let them be for lights in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth: and it was so. And God made two great lights; the greater light to rule the day, and the lesser light to rule the night: he made the stars also. And God set them in the firmament of the heaven to give light upon the earth, And to rule over the day and over the night, and to divide the light from the darkness: and God saw that it was good.” There is a theme throughout the creation story. “And God said…and God saw that it was good.” When God speaks, things happen. We can hold in our hands the very Words of the Creator of the Universe. We have the amazing opportunity to open the leather bound cover and allow Him to speak to us, and as we listen to what He has to say we too can proclaim, “it was good.” If we want the Lord to order our steps, we must remember that when God speaks, things happen.
