Psalm 119:103
“How sweet are thy words unto my taste! yea, sweeter than honey to my mouth!” The sweetness of the Word brings joy and praise to our hearts. Jeremiah 15:16 “Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by thy name, O LORD God of hosts.” Our hearts can only rejoice as we are enlightened through the Truth of the Word of God. Psalm 19:8-10 “The statutes of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart: the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes. The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring for ever: the judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether. More to be desired are they than gold, yea, than much fine gold: sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.” If we are to get even a taste of how good God is, we must trust in His Word. Psalm 34:8 “O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.” What a reward the sweetness of the Word of God is to our souls when we take the time to taste It. Proverbs 24:13-14 “My son, eat thou honey, because it is good; and the honeycomb, which is sweet to thy taste: So shall the knowledge of wisdom be unto thy soul: when thou hast found it, then there shall be a reward, and thy expectation shall not be cut off.” If we want the Lord to order our steps, we must taste the sweetness of the Word of God.
