April 18 - No Respect.

Proverbs 24:23
“These things also belong to the wise. It is not good to have respect of persons in judgment.
 
There are some things that belong to those who are wise.
This and the next eleven verses comprise of “These things”.
 
With Wisdom comes many things in addition to Christ Himself.
 
James 3:17
“But the wisdom that is from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be intreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy.”
 
The first of which is no respect of persons.
Wisdom allows us to have no partiality with people, because not only did the Lord command it, Christ expressed it.
 
Deuteronomy 1:17
“Ye shall not respect persons in judgment; but ye shall hear the small as well as the great; ye shall not be afraid of the face of man; for the judgment is God's: and the cause that is too hard for you, bring it unto me, and I will hear it.”
 
The Lord is Lord of all.
He reigns over everyone and everything.
His sovereignty surpasses any form of opposition or oppression.
 
When we receive Him, we receive Wisdom and impartiality in love.
Psalm 107:43
“Whoso is wise, and will observe these things, even they shall understand the lovingkindness of the LORD.”
 
He has no respect of persons.
Romans 2:11
“For there is no respect of persons with God.”
 
He has no respect of persons in judgment.
Revelation 20:15
“And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.”
 
He has no respect of persons in salvation.
Jesus Christ did not come to give His life for just a select few or even for many. He died for the entire world. All who choose to believe in Him receive everlasting life.
 
John 3:16
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
 
He provides the free Gift of Salvation, yet allows us to choose which will be our fate. Which whosoever are you?
 
He gives Wisdom to all who ask.
Shall we not express the Wisdom that He has given us by also having no respect of persons to those around us?
