April 18 - Stand Sure.

2 Timothy 2:19
“Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.”
 
Despite the unbelief, the persecution, and the turmoil we face in this world, if our foundation is built upon the Lord Jesus Christ we cannot fail. Christian, be encouraged today that you stand upon the Rock of Ages! Our foundation in Him will always keep us safe regardless of our circumstances.
 
Though some may choose not to believe in the Truth of God’s Word, their unbelief does not make the Scriptures untrue. God does not need the approval of men. Jesus said He is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. He is THE TRUTH regardless if men choose to believe in Him or not.
 
The context of our text today deals with facing situations where those around us question our faith or they may not believe at all. Look at the first word of our verse, “Nevertheless”. God wants us to press on despite the opinions and disbelief of those around us.
 
We are sealed through the power of the Holy Spirit. Why is that? Because we trusted in Jesus, and He knows our name! The Good Shepherd knows His sheep, and He calls us by name.
 
Sometimes our faith may waver, but the foundation of God standeth sure! Our feet are on the Solid Rock, and because we rest ourselves in Him we can stand sure that He will always do what is best for us.
 
Stand sure today regardless of the storm. God has you right where you are for a reason. He knows the strength of the winds that are raging and the waves that are tossing you to and fro. He is able to speak peace to the storm you are facing. Trust Him today. Stand sure in the foundation that He does all things well for our good and His glory!
