Psalm 119:112
“I have inclined mine heart to perform thy statutes alway, even unto the end.” We must desire to finish well, “even unto the end.” Acts 20:24 “But none of these things move me, neither count I my life dear unto myself, so that I might finish my course with joy, and the ministry, which I have received of the Lord Jesus, to testify the gospel of the grace of God.” Finishing well will not come of our own strength or ability; but rather, through our yielding to God and His Word. Philippians 3:13-15 “Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before, I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus. Let us therefore, as many as be perfect, be thus minded: and if in any thing ye be otherwise minded, God shall reveal even this unto you.” When we depend on our Saviour we can press on ahead, because He will always be with us. Matthew 28:19-20 “Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen.” What a comfort to know that He is always there for us! In Christ’s last Words before He ascended to Heaven, He commissions us to spread the Gospel through His power and not our own. If we want the Lord to order our steps, we must press on for Him, even unto the end. Bible Reading: Judges 11-12 | Acts 23 | Psalm 81
