Psalm 119:114
“Thou art my hiding place and my shield: I hope in thy word.” We often find ourselves in need of protection and direction. We cannot truly protect or direct our lives. We must seek and submit to what God tells us within His Word. The Word of God hides us and guides us. Psalm 32:7-8 “Thou art my hiding place; thou shalt preserve me from trouble; thou shalt compass me about with songs of deliverance. Selah. I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go: I will guide thee with mine eye.” The Word of God strengthens and shields us. Psalm 28:7 “The LORD is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him.” Only when we are protected and directed by the Word, can we have hope and faith as we walk daily with Him. Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.” If we want the Lord to order our steps, we must seek protection and direction from the Word of God.
