Psalm 119:115
“Depart from me, ye evildoers: for I will keep the commandments of my God.” Just like we must evaluate our thoughts based upon the Word of God, we must also consider the people with whom we allow ourselves to associate. Proverbs 13:20 “He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.” May we desire to be surrounded by those that make serving the Lord a priority in their lives, and seek to live according to the Word of God. Psalm 119:63 “I am a companion of all them that fear thee, and of them that keep thy precepts.” While choosing to surround ourselves with those that are seeking the Lord, we must sometimes separate ourselves from those who have other priorities. Separation is rarely easy, but we must remember that God will bless our efforts as we separate ourselves from worldly influences and unto Him. 2 Corinthians 6:17-18 “Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you. And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.” If we want the Lord to order our steps, we must be willing to separate ourselves according to the Word of God.
