“Thou puttest away all the wicked of the earth like dross: therefore I love thy testimonies.”
Dross is something that is regarded as worthless. The wicked of the earth are unprofitable to the Lord, and therefore He rejects those who reject Him.
“As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one.”
Much like the dross in precious metals, in order for us to become profitable, our sin is must be removed.
“The fining pot is for silver, and the furnace for gold: but the LORD trieth the hearts.”
When we choose to reject the sin in our lives, we then can become a vessel that can be used for His glory.
“Take away the dross from the silver, and there shall come forth a vessel for the finer.”
2 Timothy 2:20-21
“But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour. If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work.”
If we want the Lord to order our steps, we must reject the sin in our lives.
