Psalm 119:98
“Thou through thy commandments hast made me wiser than mine enemies: for they are ever with me.” After Solomon had offered a thousand burnt-offerings unto the Lord, God appeared unto him that night, and said for Solomon to ask what God should give him. He could have asked for riches, wealth, honor and more, yet he chose to ask for wisdom and knowledge. He wanted wisdom so that he could do the work that God had given him. Do we have the faith to ask for wisdom to do what God has given us to do for Him? James 1:5 “If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.” When we ask God for wisdom, He allows it to be found within His Word. Proverbs 2:6-7 “For the Lord giveth wisdom: out of his mouth cometh knowledge and understanding. He layeth up sound wisdom for the righteous: he is a buckler to them that walk uprightly.” It is through the Word of God that we receive wisdom from God. There is no end to the wisdom He has made available to us. The Truths of His Word is waiting for us to seek and find them. Romans 11:33 “O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!” Treasures of wisdom are waiting for us within the Word, we must only take the time to look through His Word. Colossians 2:2-3 “That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ; In whom are hid all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.” If we want the Lord to order our steps, we must seek wisdom from the Word of God.
