Proverbs 3:32-35
“For the froward is abomination to the LORD: but his secret is with the righteous. The curse of the LORD is in the house of the wicked: but he blesseth the habitation of the just. Surely he scorneth the scorners: but he giveth grace unto the lowly. The wise shall inherit glory: but shame shall be the promotion of fools.” Those who are wise, realize their need for a Saviour. We cannot save ourselves. It is by God’s grace that He gives us the faith to believe in what Jesus did for us on Calvary. He freely offers salvation to everyone who places their faith in Him. We cannot work for our salvation, because otherwise we would have something to glory in ourselves instead of our Saviour. Ephesians 2:8-9 “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.” Those who are wise, realize they cannot glory in themselves. We can only glory in the Cross of Jesus Christ, and what He did for us. Galatians 6:14 “But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom the world is crucified unto me, and I unto the world.” Those who are wise, realize they can only glory in Him. We have nothing to boast of in our own understanding, strength, or wealth. When we realize we are nothing without Him, then we begin to understand the Wisdom that is found in knowing Him. Jeremiah 9:23-24 “Thus saith the LORD, Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, neither let the mighty man glory in his might, let not the rich man glory in his riches: But let him that glorieth glory in this, that he understandeth and knoweth me, that I am the LORD which exercise lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness, in the earth: for in these things I delight, saith the LORD.” 1 Corinthians 1:29-31 “That no flesh should glory in his presence. But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption: That, according as it is written, He that glorieth, let him glory in the Lord.” Glory in Him today; for in Him is Wisdom.
