If we do not avoid strange wisdom, we will soon see the effects and influence of it upon our lives.
Proverbs 5:7-13 “Hear me now therefore, O ye children, and depart not from the words of my mouth. Remove thy way far from her, and come not nigh the door of her house: Lest thou give thine honour unto others, and thy years unto the cruel: Lest strangers be filled with thy wealth; and thy labours be in the house of a stranger; And thou mourn at the last, when thy flesh and thy body are consumed, And say, How have I hated instruction, and my heart despised reproof; And have not obeyed the voice of my teachers, nor inclined mine ear to them that instructed me!” Strange wisdom desires to make us doubt the Truth of God’s Word, even to the point where we hate or despise correction. We cannot fear the Lord and hate the instruction of His Word. Proverbs 1:7 “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge: but fools despise wisdom and instruction.” Proverbs 1:29-31 “For that they hated knowledge, and did not choose the fear of the LORD: They would none of my counsel: they despised all my reproof. Therefore shall they eat of the fruit of their own way, and be filled with their own devices.” Strange wisdom breeds disobedience to the Word of God. If we do not obey the Scriptures, we are simply not wise at all. Psalm 78:10-11 “They kept not the covenant of God, and refused to walk in his law; And forgat his works, and his wonders that he had shewed them.” We must take heed today to disregard strange wisdom before it has a significant effect upon our lives.
