Proverbs 5:15-20
“Drink waters out of thine own cistern, and running waters out of thine own well. Let thy fountains be dispersed abroad, and rivers of waters in the streets. Let them be only thine own, and not strangers' with thee. Let thy fountain be blessed: and rejoice with the wife of thy youth. Let her be as the loving hind and pleasant roe; let her breasts satisfy thee at all times; and be thou ravished always with her love. And why wilt thou, my son, be ravished with a strange woman, and embrace the bosom of a stranger?” Solomon pinned these words under inspiration of the Holy Spirit. God knew what choices his flesh would make after this was written, yet the Lord allowed him to admonish his children about the sanctity of the relationship between a husband and wife. Just as marriage is a picture of Christ and His church, we must submit ourselves to Him as a Bride adorned for her Husband. Ephesians 5:21-23 “Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God. Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.” The Lord is ever faithful to us, and therefore we must be faithful to Him in all that we do. May we never allow strange wisdom to come between our fellowship with Him. Hebrews 13:4 “Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.” Bible Reading: Job 9-10 | 1 Peter 4 | Proverbs 15
