Proverbs 29:27
“An unjust man is an abomination to the just: and he that is upright in the way is abomination to the wicked.” A contrast is the state of being strikingly different than something else. There are many contrasts used as examples for us throughout the Scriptures.; however, here we see the distinction between the just and the unjust. Proverbs 4:18 “But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.” Much like the contrast between the just and the unjust is the difference between light and darkness. From the beginning, after God created the heaven and the earth He spoke light into existence and then divided the light from the darkness. Genesis 1:3-4 “And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. And God saw the light, that it was good: and God divided the light from the darkness.” God commanded the Light to shine out of the darkness of this world. 2 Corinthians 4:6 “For God, who commanded the light to shine out of darkness, hath shined in our hearts, to give the light of the knowledge of the glory of God in the face of Jesus Christ.” The contrast between the just and the unjust allows us to see the need for more Light around us. 1 John 1:5-7 “This then is the message which we have heard of him, and declare unto you, that God is light, and in him is no darkness at all. If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.” We live in a dark world; but the darker it gets, the greater the Light of Christ can shine!
