Proverbs 30:7-9
“Two things have I required of thee; deny me them not before I die: Remove far from me vanity and lies: give me neither poverty nor riches; feed me with food convenient for me: Lest I be full, and deny thee, and say, Who is the LORD? or lest I be poor, and steal, and take the name of my God in vain.” Agur here requests two things from the Lord: sufficient grace and convenient food. He had put thought into his requests before he asked them. Do you consider what you need before you pray? If we consider our needs and take them to the Lord in prayer, we are less likely to worry about our situation. When we purposefully pray about every thing, we will find the peace that passes all understanding. Philippians 4:6-7 “Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” The Word of God tells us to ask, seek, and knock. Only then are we promised that we shall receive, find, and have it opened unto us. Matthew 7:7-8 “Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened.” God knows what we need before we even ask. Matthew 6:8 “…for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.” Should this not encourage us to ask even more? Where God guides, He provides! Where He leads, He precedes! Consider your needs and take them to the Lord in prayer today. Bible Reading: Job 27-28 | 1 John 2 | Proverbs 20
