Proverbs 7:1-2
“My son, keep my words, and lay up my commandments with thee. Keep my commandments, and live; and my law as the apple of thine eye.” Solomon once again admonishes his son to obey him, but this also gives us another view of the importance of the Wisdom of the Word of God in our lives. As the Word in the flesh, Jesus Christ is the Way, the Truth, and the Life. John 14:6 “Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” In Him is life, and without the Word within us we are dead in our sin. Ephesians 2:4-5 “But God, who is rich in mercy, for his great love wherewith he loved us, Even when we were dead in sins, hath quickened us together with Christ, (by grace ye are saved;)” We do not live by bread alone, but by every Word of the Word of God. Matthew 4:4 “But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.” Obeying the Word of God gives us life to share Him with others. Philippians 2:16 “Holding forth the word of life; that I may rejoice in the day of Christ, that I have not run in vain, neither laboured in vain.” Will we keep this Living Wisdom to ourselves? Proverbs 11:30 “The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life; and he that winneth souls is wise.” Bible Reading: Job 25-26 | 1 John 4 | Proverbs 23
