“There be three things which are too wonderful for me, yea, four which I know not: The way of an eagle in the air; the way of a serpent upon a rock; the way of a ship in the midst of the sea; and the way of a man with a maid.”
Three things are listed here that we simply cannot trace:
We cannot trace the course of an eagle as it soars through the sky.
We cannot trace the path a snake slithers across a rock.
Only the Creator can.
Although man made, it is nearly impossible to trace the exact movements of a ship as it is tossed in the waves of the sea. Storms can cause us to drift away from the course we had intended to travel.
Some things are just too wonderful for us to comprehend.
They are simply magnificent just as God intended them to be.
The unsearchable riches of Christ are too wonderful, for He is Wonderful.
“Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ; And to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ:”
The unsearchable riches of His wisdom are too wonderful, for He is Wonderful.
“O the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! how unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways past finding out!”
There is nothing good in us that is worthy of the love of God.
“Thou hast beset me behind and before, and laid thine hand upon me. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot attain unto it.”
To think that God was willing to give His only begotten Son because He loves us is simply unthinkable.
“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”
His Wisdom is too wonderful, yet He has made the way to Him so simple that a child can understand.
