Proverbs 30:24-28
“There be four things which are little upon the earth, but they are exceeding wise: The ants are a people not strong, yet they prepare their meat in the summer; The conies are but a feeble folk, yet make they their houses in the rocks; The locusts have no king, yet go they forth all of them by bands; The spider taketh hold with her hands, and is in kings' palaces.” Ants, conies (similar to rabbits, but live in rocks), locusts, and spiders may seem like little things to us, but God chose each of these animals for a very specific reason. They are written within the inspired pages of Scripture for our learning. Romans 15:14 “For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope.” We tend to look at ants as little mindless creatures that serve virtually little purpose. If you have never studied how ants behave as a group and work together for the good of all, take some time to do so. There is much wisdom found in their behavior, and we would be better to learn from them. God uses the things we see as little to do great things for Him. There is nothing insignificant when the Lord chooses them for His glory. 1 Corinthians 1:27-29 “But God hath chosen the foolish things of the world to confound the wise; and God hath chosen the weak things of the world to confound the things which are mighty; And base things of the world, and things which are despised, hath God chosen, yea, and things which are not, to bring to nought things that are: That no flesh should glory in his presence.” If we will simply humble ourselves, we can be used by the Lord to do great things for His glory. John 3:30 “He must increase, but I must decrease.” Bible Reading: Ecclesiastes 1-2 | Revelation 2 | Proverbs 28
