Proverbs 4:5
“Get wisdom, get understanding...” When we “Get wisdom” we acquire or possess it. When we receive Christ, we have Wisdom. We then must choose how we will apply that Wisdom each day to our lives. Our faith in Him determines the course of every decision we make. Philippians 3:8-10 “Yea doubtless, and I count all things but loss for the excellency of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord: for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and do count them but dung, that I may win Christ, And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith: That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death;” Each day we must choose Him by faithfully spending time within His Word. Proverbs 4:6 “…forget it not; neither decline from the words of my mouth. Forsake her not, and she shall preserve thee: love her, and she shall keep thee.” The longer we go without a drink, the more we need the refreshment. When our body is dehydrated, there is craving for water that is instilled in us by our Creator. He gave us the ability to be thirsty. When our time with Him declines, our soul begins to thirst for Wisdom. Just as our physical body needs nourishment, God placed within us the desire for Him. The longer we go without the Word, the more our soul desires Him. Psalm 42:1-2 “As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God. My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God: when shall I come and appear before God?” Are you thirsty? Refresh your soul today with the Wisdom of the Word of God.
