August 6 - Sin Abounds.

Proverbs 29:16
“When the wicked are multiplied, transgression increaseth: but the righteous shall see their fall.”
 
It seems that if there were ever day when we could vastly say that sin has increased it would be today.
 
The Truth of the Scriptures shows us the difference between right and wrong, yet so few seem to be reading the Word of God.
 
Many times throughout the Gospel accounts in the New Testament, Jesus Christ calls out those who have not read the Scriptures.
“Have ye not read…”
“Have ye never read…”
“Did ye never read…”
 
What convicting Words to read.
They ought to give us a desire to read, search, and study more.
 
Sin abounds all around us, yet God gives us hope within His Word.
Romans 5:20-21
“Moreover the law entered, that the offence might abound. But where sin abounded, grace did much more abound: That as sin hath reigned unto death, even so might grace reign through righteousness unto eternal life by Jesus Christ our Lord.”
 
There is coming a day when sin will no longer have a hold on us.
We must now wait on the Lord while following His Way through His Word.
 
Psalm 37:34
“Wait on the LORD, and keep his way, and he shall exalt thee to inherit the land: when the wicked are cut off, thou shalt see it.”
