August 7 - A Better Hope.

Hebrews 7:19
“For the law made nothing perfect, but the bringing in of a better hope did; by the which we draw nigh unto God.”
 
The law could not and cannot bring salvation or justify our guilt.
It is simply a schoolmaster to show us that we come short of God’s glory.
 
Galatians 3:24-25
“Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith. But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.”
 
It took the precious blood of Jesus Christ to make justification possible.
When we have faith in Him, we are no longer under the law.
 
He is that “better hope”, and the only way we can draw nigh unto God.
 
Hebrews 7:22
“By so much was Jesus made a surety of a better testament.”
 
He is the Anchor of our salvation.
 
Hebrews 6:19
“Which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil;”
 
When we are unsure and drifting without hope, He is stedfast.
He never changes.
 
Hebrews 7:24-25
“But this man, because he continueth ever, hath an unchangeable priesthood. Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them.”
 
He is Able, willing and ready to save anyone who comes to Him.
 
Do you need a “better hope” today?
Look to Him.
