“Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.”
It had never happened before, it has never happened since, nor will it ever happen again.
Isaiah prophesized what would happen long before it did.
The sign was Mary, a virgin, having a child.
“Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.”
God chose to take on a robe of humanity in order to dwell with us.
“For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.”
He dwelt among us so that we could walk with Him.
“And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.”
Though He is no longer bodily on the earth, He has left us a Comforter to dwell in us and teach us His Word.
“But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.”
His Word is with us today so that we may know Him more.
This Christmas season, seek Him through His Word like you never have before.
