Luke 2:18
“And all they that heard it wondered at those things which were told them by the shepherds.” The Gospel fills hearts with wonder. When the Shepherds made known abroad what had taken place, those that heard the Good News wondered at what they were told. The Saviour was born as a baby in a stable instead of a palace. The Angels told shepherds instead of kings. Jesus was born of a virgin, as the Son of God. He was born to die. Matthew 1:21 “And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.” Romans 5:8 “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” Romans 6:23 “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” Romans 10:9 “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” If we only wonder at the Gospel instead of believing, we have missed out on the Gift. Romans 10:13-14 “For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher?” If the Shepherds kept the news to themselves, how would people have heard? In order for someone to hear it, someone has to tell it. Romans 10:17 “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” Tell the Good News of the Gospel so that someone will hear today, and every day. Bible Reading: Micah 5-7 | Psalm 141
