Luke 2:49
“And he said unto them, How is it that ye sought me? wist ye not that I must be about my Father's business?” Jesus and His parents returned into Galilee to Nazareth after sometime, and then made yearly trips to Jerusalem for the feast of the Passover. When He was twelve, Jesus tarried behind in Jerusalem while His parents travelled home. Luke 2:43 “And when they had fulfilled the days, as they returned, the child Jesus tarried behind in Jerusalem; and Joseph and his mother knew not of it.” They returned back to Jerusalem and found Him after three days in the temple sitting in the midst of the doctors asking them questions that amazed everyone. In the first recorded Words of Jesus, the Son of God, He asked two questions of His seeking parents. “How is it that ye sought me? wist ye not that I must be about my Father's business?” They looked for Him in all the wrong places. It took them three days to find Him. How are you seeking Him? It is easy seek Him in all the wrong places, just as His parents did. Matthew 6:33 “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” He must be the first priority if we are to live as He intends. 1 Chronicles 22:19 “Now set your heart and your soul to seek the LORD your God…” What is your heart set on today? Colossians 3:2 “Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.” Matthew 6:21 “For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.” What is in our hearts determines what we do, how we act, and who we are. If we are to be like Christ, we too must be about our Father’s business. Seek Him with your whole heart today, and every day. Bible Reading: Haggai | Psalm 145
