December 3 - Hungry For Wisdom.

Proverbs 16:26
“He that laboureth laboureth for himself; for his mouth craveth it of him.”
 
We must work for that which we need or want. He that does not work does not eat. We must eat to live. Our bodies require the nourishment of food to give us strength and energy.
 
Likewise, our spiritual lives need nourishment that is only found by seeking the Lord through His Word. Jesus told His disciples that they must work to find the unending Truths within the Word of God.
 
John 5:39
“Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.”
 
It is in His Word that we learn more about Jesus and how to become more like Him. Oh that we would hunger to seek and know Him more each day.
 
Psalm 63:1-3
“O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is; To see thy power and thy glory, so as I have seen thee in the sanctuary. Because thy lovingkindness is better than life, my lips shall praise thee.”
