Philippians 4:7
“And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.” Everyone is searching for peace amidst the chaos and confusion of the world in which we are living. The Truth of the matter is that most are looking in all the wrong places. When we need a break, or to find some peace, we often look to the things of the world. Any form of stress reliever that we can buy or schedule will only give temporary results. Philippians 4:6 “Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.” Anxiety is rampant today. We seek peace and comfort from everywhere else but where the Scriptures tell us it is found. Isaiah 26:3 “Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.” The perfect peace that is found in Him “passeth all understanding”. No matter how hard we try, it is impossible for us to comprehend or understand it. Our finite minds simply cannot fully grasp the concept, no matter how spiritual we may consider ourselves. Yet, it is available to us when we come to God through Christ Jesus. He keeps our hearts and minds secure through peace that only He can give. Colossians 3:15-16 “And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to the which also ye are called in one body; and be ye thankful. Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.” Instead of searching everywhere else, before you pick up your Bible, why not finish out this hectic year seeking peace in Him? John 14:27 “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.” John 16:33 “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.” Bible Reading: Zechariah 11-14 | Psalm 149
