Luke 1:30
“And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God.” Can you imagine how Mary must have felt to hear that she had been chosen by God? Anything we have the privilege to do for Him should remind us of how unworthy we are to be used for His glory. Luke 1:31 “And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name JESUS.” She was chosen to be the vessel to bring forth the Son of God into this world. The angel then told her a little bit about the Son she would be carrying within her. Luke 1:32-33 “He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highest: and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end.” Fear must have gripped ahold of her tender heart when she heard those words. The devil will try to convince us that any task we are given is impossible or will he will send distractions and discouragement to try and defeat us before the work even begins. Mary needed to realize and be reminded of the favour that God had shown her in order to push out the fear within her heart. Whatever situation that has you consumed with fear, choose today to remind yourself of the favour that God has shown you. You are His vessel to be used by Him for one purpose…His glory. Nothing else matters. He is there with you. He desires to help you. When the devil fights, fight back by choosing to rely on the Lord to strengthen you and do the work in and through you. Isaiah 41:10 “Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.” Allow Him to fight your fear with His favour.
