Proverbs 21:16
“The man that wandereth out of the way of understanding shall remain in the congregation of the dead.” Wandering can be fun. Setting out on an adventure that leads to nowhere can bring some spontaneous activities and priceless moments. However, spiritual wandering is far from fun; yet so often we are prone to wander. Every time we wander away from Him, we turn our backs to what He has for us. Zephaniah 1:6 “And them that are turned back from the LORD; and those that have not sought the LORD, nor enquired for him.” When we wander from the Way we are treading on dangerous ground that leads to destruction. If we are truly saved, we cannot lose our salvation, but we can destroy our testimony and effect the decision of others. Is wandering from the Lord worth that? Hebrews 6:4-6 “For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were made partakers of the Holy Ghost, And have tasted the good word of God, and the powers of the world to come, If they shall fall away, to renew them again unto repentance; seeing they crucify to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put him to an open shame.” Jeremiah 14:10 “Thus saith the LORD unto this people, Thus have they loved to wander, they have not refrained their feet, therefore the LORD doth not accept them; he will now remember their iniquity, and visit their sins.” Though we may be prone to wander, God has given us Everything we need to keep ourselves in the Way of Wisdom. Psalm 119:10 “With my whole heart have I sought thee: O let me not wander from thy commandments.” May we bind our wandering hearts to the Word of God today and every day.
