Psalm 119:55
“I have remembered thy name, O LORD, in the night, and have kept thy law.” While we read the Word of God, we must remember the Lord of the Word. Not only remember Him, we must remember His Name. Psalm 34:3 “O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt his name together.” Even in the night seasons of our lives, we must exalt the Name of our Lord. There is power in His Name, the power of salvation. Acts 4:10-12 “Be it known unto you all, and to all the people of Israel, that by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom ye crucified, whom God raised from the dead, even by him doth this man stand here before you whole. This is the stone which was set at nought of you builders, which is become the head of the corner. Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.” Salvation lies within our faith in the Name of Jesus and what He did for us on Calvary. Where does our faith begin? Romans 10:17 “So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” As we remember His Name, we must also remember His Word for God magnifies His Word even above His Name. Psalm 138 “I will praise thee with my whole heart: before the gods will I sing praise unto thee. I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name. In the day when I cried thou answeredst me, and strengthenedst me with strength in my soul.” If at the Name above every name, the Name of Jesus, every knee shall bow, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, how much more powerful is His Word? His Words created every thing that we see and every thing that we are as He spoke the world and us into existence. His Word is where we see Jesus, the Word that “was made flesh, and dwelt among us”. His Word is where we behold His “glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father), full of grace and truth.” If we want the Lord to order our steps, we must remember His Name and remember His Word.
