February 26 - Our Portion.

While the people around us choose to find their happiness in the things of this world, as God’s children we have the unique opportunity to find our joy in Him through His Word. We can choose the Word of God as our portion.
 
We can find hope in His Word.
Lamentations 3:24-26
“The LORD is my portion, saith my soul; therefore will I hope in him. The LORD is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul that seeketh him. It is good that a man should both hope and quietly wait for the salvation of the LORD.”
 
We can find strength in His Word.
Psalm 73:24-26
“Thou shalt guide me with thy counsel, and afterward receive me to glory. Whom have I in heaven but thee? and there is none upon earth that I desire beside thee. My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever.”
 
We can find refuge in His Word.
Psalm 142:3-5
“When my spirit was overwhelmed within me, then thou knewest my path. In the way wherein I walked have they privily laid a snare for me. I looked on my right hand, and beheld, but there was no man that would know me: refuge failed me; no man cared for my soul. I cried unto thee, O Lord: I said, Thou art my refuge and my portion in the land of the living.”
 
Whatever we need, His Word has the answer; we need only to seek Him to find it. While we wait, He is our Hope. When we are weak in faith, His strength will carry us through. When we are overwhelmed with the cares of this life, we can seek refuge in Him.
 
If we want the Lord to order our steps, we must choose His Word as our portion.
