February 27 - Steps

Psalm 37:23
“The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way.”
 
Have you ever had a day when you knew without a doubt that God had ordered your steps? When we acknowledge Him, He will direct our steps.
 
After the disastrous attacks of September 11th, 2001 there were many stories that came to light of people that would have been inside the towers of the World Trade Center if Something had not redirected their path. Some had doctor’s appointments. Some had flat tires. Some missed their flight or Subway train. Hundreds more people would have been killed on that dreadful day if they had not been delayed or the course of their path had not been altered. God had a purpose for sparing their lives that day. Some may have not yet heard the Gospel. Some may have still had a purpose to carry out.
 
Perhaps you have had a similar experience where God altered your plans throughout the course of a day in order to spare you from some horrific event. On the flip side, maybe there has been a time that God crossed your paths with someone that needed your assistance or you needed theirs.
 
The Lord has a way of changing our lives by ordering our paths to cross with people. A spouse, a friend, a family member. One day you were that lost person who needed the Gospel, and the Lord ordered someone’s steps to give you the Good News.
 
Why does the Lord order our steps? For His glory!
 
God orders our steps according to His will, and therefore He delights in them. When we submit ourselves to Him, we not only find His will as He directs us, but we cause Him to delight in us.
 
As we delight in Him, He delights in His children.
