Proverbs 21:22
“A wise man scaleth the city of the mighty, and casteth down the strength of the confidence thereof.” Those who think themselves to have great strength are truly much weaker than they believe, whereas those who consider themselves to be weak are much stronger. 2 Corinthians 3:4-5 “And such trust have we through Christ to God-ward: Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God;” The secret is in the Source of our strength. 2 Corinthians 12:9-10 “And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong.” When we acknowledge our weakness, we express our need for Him. Our greatest strength is shown when we place faith in Him to carry us through. Romans 4:20-21 “He staggered not at the promise of God through unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform.” Our faith in Wisdom strengthens us far more than any power of the flesh. Ecclesiastes 7:19 “Wisdom strengtheneth the wise more than ten mighty men which are in the city.” Wisdom is simply better than anything we can attempt to strengthen ourselves with. His strength surpasses anything this world has to offer us. Ecclesiastes 9:16 “Then said I, Wisdom is better than strength: nevertheless the poor man's wisdom is despised, and his words are not heard.” Bible Reading: Leviticus 25-27 | Luke 9 | Proverbs 27
