February 4 - Our Inheritance.

Proverbs 20:20-21
“Whoso curseth his father or his mother, his lamp shall be put out in obscure darkness. An inheritance may be gotten hastily at the beginning; but the end thereof shall not be blessed.”
 
Regardless of our upbringing, God gives us clear commands about our heritage. Rather than obscure darkness, we can increase the number of our days by honoring our parents.
 
Exodus 20:12
“Honour thy father and thy mother: that thy days may be long upon the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.”
 
God has given us life and the very breath within our lungs.
Every aspect of our being is given to us by His grace.  
 
Family is a gift of God’s grace.
Heritage is a gift of God’s grace.
Salvation is a gift of God’s grace.
Eternal Life is a gift of God’s grace.
 
Honour the parents or godly influences that He gave you.
Any earthly inheritance we receive will fade in time, but that which we receive from God by Christ Jesus cannot be taken away.
 
1 Peter 1:3-5
“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you, Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.”
 
Choose to live today in light of the grace of God, resting that you have an inheritance reserved in heaven for you.
