Proverbs 18:18-19
“The lot causeth contentions to cease, and parteth between the mighty. A brother offended is harder to be won than a strong city: and their contentions are like the bars of a castle.” Cain and Abel. Esau and Jacob. A brother offended is hard to reach. Romans 14:19-21 “Let us therefore follow after the things which make for peace, and things wherewith one may edify another. For meat destroy not the work of God. All things indeed are pure; but it is evil for that man who eateth with offence. It is good neither to eat flesh, nor to drink wine, nor any thing whereby thy brother stumbleth, or is offended, or is made weak.” Wisdom brings peace when we yield ourselves to Him. God has a way of directing us to what best glorifies Him when we seek to find His will for our lives. Even an offended relative or friend can be won by Wisdom. James 3:13 “Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom.” Galatians 6:1-2 “Brethren, if a man be overtaken in a fault, ye which are spiritual, restore such an one in the spirit of meekness; considering thyself, lest thou also be tempted. Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.” Sometimes people simply need us to help bear the burden they are carrying. We can best reach someone by showing the love of Christ to them through our words and, most of all, our actions. Galatians 6:9-10 “And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. As we have therefore opportunity, let us do good unto all men, especially unto them who are of the household of faith.” Bible Reading: Genesis 1-2 | John 1 | Proverbs 1
